What to expect from therapy
Therapy can be a daunting process, whether you've seen a therapist before or not, it's quite common for people to express that it's uncomfortable 'telling a stranger everything.' For other people it may be a comforting and cathartic process.
You will need to:
-
Bring or email your Mental health care plan through for your first session (if you wish to obtain the medicare rebate).
-
Alternatively, you can choose to pay the full fee privately.
-
If you are attending for clinical supervision, I will send you a contract to read and sign within the first session.
The first general therapy or sex therapy session will be:
-
50-60 minutes
-
Involves me asking a lot of questions as I start to get to know you and understand why you are here.
-
I am trauma-informed in this process.
-
We discuss what you wish to get out of therapy, and start to set goals if appropriate. This process may take more than one session. We go at your pace.

Therapy is about you, and I will do my best to make it fit to your needs.
